The contest is distributed across the six regions, on the same date and time, with the same problem set. Results are aggregated at three levels: super-region, region and country. The best teams are promoted to the 2027 ICPC Latin America Championship in Monterrey, Mexico.

Teams can test the image that will be used in the contest. The practice image boots the same environment as the contest (Maratona Linux, from a USB drive), with one difference: it has free access to the internet, while on contest day the firewall allows only the contest systems. Testing lets teams learn the editors and tools and find hardware problems while there is still time to fix them. See How to Test the Competition System.
